1.  Josh Eral – Wisconsin

I’ve met this gentleman a few times and he’s a stand up cat, but that’s not why he’s on this list. He’s on here because he consistently puts out stellar work. His work is clean, his colors are always lush and perfectly saturated and his compositions are as masterfully crafted as they come. I’m personally partial to his work with water, but his cityscapes and occasional portraits make me appreciate Josh’s skill set even more and proves he’s going to produce something great no matter what’s in front of him.

2. Brett Stoddart – Pennsylvania
IG ID: eltidy

Ahhh, yes, the photographer whose work stopped me in my tracks, the shooter who has inspired me more than any other artist out there, the one and only Tidy Photography. I follow Brett’s work religiously and he is seriously a legitimate god among photographers. When I first got into photography, I was photographing the same things that I still shoot and love to this day; rural abandonment and decay. A coworker of mine sent me this mans page and I was instantly hooked. How could it be that almost 7 years later I’m still this crazy about Brett’s work? Well, he’s a king and continues to deliver time and time again. Consistency is a HUGE quality that I admire and perhaps the most important of all regarding photography.  Having said that, Brett’s work is the pinnacle of consistency. It is just that good ALL THE TIME.  A 16 time world champion will always be greater in many scenarios than a 1 time champion. You don’t hold a title 16 times without having “it” and some kind of extraordinary ability to wow so many on such a broad spectrum over and over again. To me, Brett Stoddart is that of photography as what Ric Flair is to wrestling. WOOOO!

3. Tim Holte – Wisconsin
IG ID: holtetim

Without a doubt, Tim is in my top 5 favorite Wisconsin photographers. I can’t quite explain why I’m so attracted to this mans style and photographs, but it most certainly captivates and impresses me. His images tell great stories, express great amounts of meaning, and show so much individuality. Tim’s work is incredibly inspiring, I can always spot an image of his from the second I see and I always look forward to whats next with his name paired aside it. Over the winter, I plan on talking him into beginning to watermark his images.

4. Dana McMullen: Canada / Arizona

I stumbled upon this mans work on a Facebook page called Megashot several years ago. Although he shoots primarily landscape photography, he does some portrait work as well and I can honestly say I love pretty much every single image this guy shows off to the world. His style is bold, dramatic, sometimes dreamy and very easy to understand, but very many times difficult to replicate and that alone is a testament to his own style. I’ve had the great privilege of meeting and shooting some incredible locations with this guy. He’s an incredible photographer and a even better person.

5. Jose Barbosa – Portugal

I first encountered this mans work about 4 years ago via Facebook. I instantly saw a level of greatness in his images that many photographers can not honestly say they possess. Incredible colors, contrast, shadows and overall perfect exposure form each one of his images that engage you from the get go and keep you wanting more. His long exposure images are among the best and his subject choice is always a pleasure to view.
